Fighting Retinoblastoma in Sub-Saharan Africa

A Permanent Awareness Initiative to Save Lives
In Sub-Saharan Africa, childhood blindness rates are high and retinoblastoma survival rates remain critically low, with many children receiving a diagnosis too late for life-saving treatment. Unlike in higher-income countries, where early detection leads to survival rates above 96%, children in this region face barriers such as limited awareness, lack of access to medical care, and delayed diagnosis.

At Know The Glow (KTG), we refuse to accept this disparity. That’s why we have established a permanent, bilingual awareness campaign—running continuously in both Francophone and Anglophone regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. Our goal is simple but urgent: ensure more children are diagnosed early, increasing their chances of survival and preserving their vision.
