In recognition of World Retinoblastoma Week 2026, the KnowTheGlow SACON Student Chapter conducted a community awareness initiative at Kamala Nehru Hospital in Pune, India. Through ward-based education sessions, poster presentations, ocular examination demonstrations, and one-on-one counseling, nursing students educated parents and caregivers about the importance of recognizing the Glow (leukocoria) and other early warning signs that may indicate serious eye and health conditions in children.
The outreach reached approximately 30–40 mothers and caregivers, empowering families with practical knowledge about early detection and encouraging timely medical evaluation when concerns arise. We are proud of the dedication and impact of the SACON Student Chapter as they continue to help raise awareness and promote earlier diagnosis for children in their community.
