Details: a Retinoblastoma artistic expression event

After six years at the helm of the third LVPEI Tertiary Center in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Anasua Kapoor saw the inauguration of the “Hima Bindu Yalamanchili Centre for Eye Cancer” at the Vijayawada’s Kode Venkatadri Chowdary campus, LV Prasad Eye Institute this past November 2020. This is the first dedicated eye cancer center in the State of Andhra Pradesh with a population of over 50 million and will play an important role in the care of eye cancer in the state, especially Retinoblastoma, the main cause of eye cancer in children. Care will be available to everyone irrespective of their ability to pay in conformity with our Institute’s policy and practice irrespective of the complexity of the care needed.  To celebrate the newly inaugurated center, Dr. Anasua Kapoor and Dr. Swathi Kaliki shared with KnowTheGlow Co-Founder, Megan Webber, their unique Retinoblastoma artistic expression event.  They are inviting people from around the world to make an artwork submission by July 15th to their exhibit entitled Retinoblastoma: An Artistic Expression.  Their hope is to connect with patients, parents, siblings from around the world who can express in art what the retinoblastoma journey and condition has meant to them. The RB experience does not have to have been experienced first-hand as all submissions are welcome. The selected artworks will be exhibited permanently in the Rb museum at the Center with a bio and small description.  Additionally, there will also be a virtual exhibit of all the submissions.
