At Jazeera University in Somalia, medical students gathered for an eye health awareness event led by Charity Vision Somalia, with Dr. Said Gedi (Country Manager) and Dr. Mohamed Kalif (Program Manager).
The session focused on Leukocoria, the “white reflex”, a glow in a child’s eye that can indicate conditions such as strabismus, congenital cataract, or retinoblastoma.
The team used Know The Glow resources to drive discussion on how early recognition of the white reflex can change a child’s outcome.
A heartfelt thank you to Charity Vision Somalia and partners for making this important event possible.
