GAF Eye Health Foundation, lead by Ambrose Wekwanya and with support from Know The Glow, recently distributed 65 medical calendars to health centers across Namisindwa District. These calendars provide healthcare workers with essential information on common eye conditions, including childhood blindness caused by The Glow diseases, as well as key eye health dates and reminders to improve patient care.
The calendars reached all levels of health facilities, from Health Center II to Health Center IV, covering centers such as Bumbo HC3, Bubutu HC3, Magale HC4, and Lwakhakha HC2. During the visits, GAF’s team conducted brief orientations with staff to demonstrate how to use the calendars as a reference tool for daily operations and patient referrals.
The initiative was well received, improving access to structured medical information, strengthening relationships with health facility staff, and supporting better coordination for patient referrals.
