Univision interview features Know The Glow®
Actress Karyme Lozano and Dr. Paul Urrea sat down with Univision to raise awareness about “The Glow” in the Spanish community. “The Glow,” also known as Leukocoria, is an abnormal white or gold pupil that can be detected in flash photography. This “Glow” is an indicator of 16 eye diseases, including Retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer in children.
Educating families and doctors about “The Glow” is crucial for early detection, which is vital in saving children’s sight and lives. Many physicians are unaware of “The Glow.” In 80 percent of cases, the glow is detected by parents, not a doctor.
